Desmond Dekker
Desmond Dekker was a Jamaican pioneer of ska and reggae. With his group the Aces, he scored one of the first international reggae hits, “Israelites,” in 1968. He had further success with tracks like “007 (Shanty Town)” and “It Mek,” helping to bring Jamaican music to a global mainstream audience.
