Berlin, an American new wave/synth-pop band formed in Los Angeles in 1978, found 80s success with singles like “The Metro,” “Sex,” and “No More Words.” Their chart-topping “Take My Breath Away” from Top Gun won an Oscar and Golden Globe. The group disbanded soon after reaching global fame.
