The New Power Generation
The New Power Generation (NPG) was Prince’s iconic backing band from 1990-2013, later succeeded by 3rdeyegirl. They reunited for his final album, Hit n Run Phase Two (2015), and a 2017 tour. In Feb 2026, the group announced its renaming to the Minneapolis Sound All Star Band.
