Del Shannon was an American rock and roll star famous for his 1961 number-one hit “Runaway”. Known for his unique falsetto and use of the Musitron synthesizer, he was a major influence on later artists. Posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, his work remains a 60s staple.
