Lloyd Price was an American R&B legend known as “Mr. Personality” after his 1959 million-selling hit. He hit fame early with “Lawdy Miss Clawdy” and scored several top-ten hits, refining the New Orleans beat. An inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he was a key figure in the genre’s rise.
