The Boomtown Rats are a legendary Irish new wave band led by Bob Geldof. They achieved immortality with the 1979 number-one smash “I Don’t Like Mondays” and hits like “Rat Trap.” Their sharp, energetic sound and Geldof’s charismatic presence made them icons of the late-70s and 80s rock scenes.
