Athlete was an English indie rock band from Deptford, London. Comprising Joel Pott, Carey Willetts, Stephen Roberts, and Tim Wanstall, they rose to fame in the early 2000s. They are best known for their 2005 hit “Wires,” which won an Ivor Novello Award and helped their album hit number one.
